Healthcare Support for Elderly
Many senior citizens in our cities and villages live alone, on small pensions or none at all, and often feel forgotten. Our elderly care programme aims to restore both health and dignity in the later years of life.
Our volunteers organise regular wellness days with free medical consultations, blood pressure and sugar checks, eye examinations and physiotherapy advice. Doctors take time to explain medicines in the elder's own language, which greatly improves how well prescriptions are followed.
For those who cannot travel, we arrange home visits, medicine delivery and help with hospital appointments. We also support old age homes with groceries, medical supplies and volunteer time, so that residents receive care with respect.
Companionship matters as much as medicine. Yoga sessions, cultural evenings, festival celebrations and simple conversations remind elders that they are valued members of the community, and give young volunteers a chance to learn from their experience.
